MNL48, the Filipino version and the 5th international sister group of Japan's supergroup AKB48, and Lawson, one of the biggest convenience store chains in the country recently signed a distribution deal that will take place on December 2018.
Hallohallo Entertainment Inc. (HHE), the company behind MNL48, who brought and introduced in the Philippines the phenomenal idol culture of AKB48 - the highest selling all-girl group in Japan, has officially announced its tie-up with Lawson as one of MNL48 merchandise and album CDs' exclusive distributor in the country, bringing MNL48 line closer to its target market.
Mr. Paulo Kurosawa, HHE President described his satisfaction at penning a deal with Lawson. "We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Lawson. Hallohallo Entertainment Inc. believes that Lawson has already built a strong reputation in the convenience store chain industry in the country and signing this deal with them to be our merchandise distributor will greatly help us introduce and bring MNL48 to wider consumers."
HHE and Lawson believe that this agreement will be beneficial for both parties in terms of promotion and sales that's why starting this December, all Lawson stores will carry MNL48 official merchandise. Fans can now easily purchase MNL48 official products and album CDs in their nearest Lawson store.
The announcement of the distribution deal between HHE and Lawson coincides with the release of MNL48's second single entitled "Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie" on December 1, 2018. The melody of the group's second single is known as an Asian phenomenon with versions from AKB48 and other international sister groups like BNK48 (Bangkok, Thailand) and JKT48 (Jakarta, Indonesia) which sold millions of copies, topped various music charts with over 150 million music video views and streamed millions of times on different online music platforms across Asia.
